Montana State University- Extension Forestry (MSUEF)

The MSU Extension Forestry office offers forest landowners, natural resource professionals, and loggers publications and educational programs that provide practical knowledge about Montana forest lands and forest management options. With this knowledge comes the ability and motivation to manage forest resources. Educational programs include the Montana Forest Stewardship Workshop and advanced forestry classes such as managing Shelterbelts and windbreaks, and forest wildfire hazard reduction workshop. Extension Forestry also hosts the annual Forestry Mini-College held each year in Missoula.  The Extension Forestry staff can answer specific forestry questions or provide information on forest management topics such as management plans, markets for forest products, reforestation (tree planting), tree thinning, timber harvesting, forest wetlands and riparian areas, windbreaks, and living snow fences.
