University Data & Analytics (UDA) coordinates university-wide surveys to inform and improve institutional policy and practice. A coordinated survey strategy monitors survey fatigue, protects respondents, supports high quality survey methodology, and maximizes the value of results.

Survey requests submitted to UDA are prioritized based on:

  • University information needs
  • Demonstrated utility for policy and practice improvement
  • Survey burden on oversampled populations

Survey and sample requests should be submitted to data@montana.edu at least six weeks in advance of planned deployment.

Undergraduate Stratified Sample

The MSU Student Survey is a biennial survey to help us identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in our university’s academic and student services programs.

Outcomes are dependent on the students and range from college choice, intent to return, core course experiences, post-graduation plans, satisfaction with in and out-of-class experiences, academic advising, and student services.

New Undergraduate Student Population

BCSSE collects information from incoming first-year students on their prior high-school academic experiences and expected engagement in college, helping institutions align support with early expectations and behaviors.

1-Year Bachelor's Degree Recipient Alumni Population

Career Destinations Survey
